Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Theatrical showing

I finally completed a piece of my life by seeing this in the cinemas on it’s re-release last month. Despite having re-watched it on DVD shortly before seeing it in the cinema the film still feels as fresh and as entertaining as it always has.

There are always some jokes you have forgotten, find still funny or understand better with age. Seeing the movie on the big screen is not only a delight but for the first time I can really watch it in detail and I personally think that most of the effects in this hold up fairly well except for maybe one or two moments of the demon dog chasing Louis Tully. But Gozer’s temple looks fantastic still. I like that I can now see things like the Ghostbusters from a distance in Dana’s destroyed apartment, Louis Tully’s copy cat actions in the containment room and the fine features of Gozer herself. It was a lot of fun. Long may it’s legacy continue.

Favorite Quote: “We’ve been going about this all wrong. This Mr. Stay Puft’s okay! He’s a sailor, he’s in New York… if we get this guy laid, we won’t have any trouble!.” – Peter Venkman
